A Burlington woman wanted since last July has been arrested and charged with theft.

According to police, 31-year-old Ayana Wylie was at the Coralville Check Into Cash location on the Coralville Strip and cashed a check for over $4450. The check reportedly came back invalid.

The business sent a certified demand of payment letter that was eventually picked up by Wylie on June 21st.  After allegedly making no attempt to repay the money, a warrant was issued on July 18th.

Wylie remained at large until April 25th when the University of Iowa Public Safety Department arrested her.  She’s charged with 2nd degree theft and could face up to five years in prison if convicted.

Wylie posted bond on April 28th and was released pending arraignment.
