Iowa City Police say a suspect threw hot coffee on a woman during an assault at a local fast food restaurant.
Arrest records indicate just before 9:00 Wednesday morning 26-year-old Anthony Moore of Shamrock Place exited his vehicle in the drive-thru at the Lower Muscatine Road McDonald’s, leaned his head into the building, and swung and spit on another person. The altercation then moved outside, where Moore allegedly threw hot coffee on the woman, burning her skin. Once taken into custody, Moore reportedly physically resisted arrest. He’s now charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Interference With Official Acts. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of 13 months in jail.
