A former Johnson County Sheriff is calling out current members of the Board of Supervisors for what he claims is excessive absenteeism.
Lonny Pulkrabek…who served as Johnson County Sheriff from 2005 to 2021…has posted to his Facebook page that he recently filed a freedom of information request with the Johnson County Auditor for attendance records for the current members of the Board of Supervisors.
According to Pulkrabek, the data showed that there were 152 scheduled meetings involving the supervisors in 2024, and that V Fixmer-Oraiz missed 17, Lisa Green-Douglas missed 12, and Jon Green and Rod Sullivan each missed five. The number of meetings where supervisors attended electronically were Green-Douglas 11, Fixmer-Oraiz 5, Green 4, and Rod Sullivan 0.
Pulkrabek says in 2025, out of 169 scheduled meetings Fixmer-Oraiz missed 23, Green 22, Mandi Remington 21, and Green-Douglas and Sullivan five each. Meetings attended electronically include Remington 33, Fixmer-Oraiz 12, Green-Douglas 6, Green 1, and Sullivan zero. Pulkrabek also claimed Remington rarely turned on her camera for the 33 meetings for which she telecommuted.
Pulkrabek argues the skipped meetings show a lack of dedication to serving the public, and that it’s disrespectful to other, non-elected county employees who show up for work regularly.
