Allegedly pulling a bouncer’s facial hair out during a fight at a downtown nightclub has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.

University of Iowa Police say 28-year-old Solomon Kelly of the Pheasant Ridge Apartments on Bartelt Road was being escorted out of The Fieldhouse Bar on the Ped Mall just after 1:45 Sunday morning when he threw a punch at a bouncer. Kelly was taken to the ground by Fieldhouse staff, but he continued throwing punches. One bouncer suffered a cut lip and scraped left wrist. Kelly had also pulled out some of the bouncer’s facial hair, causing bleeding. The hair was still in Kelly’s hand when he was arrested by police.

Kelly faces charges of Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 14 months in jail.
