A one-vehicle accident north of Riverside has led to drug charges against a Lone Tree woman.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on the 5600 block of Landon Avenue Southwest just before 7:15am on October 4th. During the crash investigation, a plastic bag containing a clear crystal substance was located in the purse of the driver, identified as 59-year-old Mary Linnell of East Jayne Street. The substance field tested positive for the presence of amphetamines, and was sent to the DCI lab for confirmation testing. A urine sample was also sent to the DCI lab, which confirmed Linnell had amphetamines in her system at the time of the crash.

Linnell was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 2:15 Saturday afternoon and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd or Subsequent Offence. The sheriff’s office says Linnell has several previous misdemeanor and felony drug convictions. If convicted on the latest charges, she faces a maximum of six years in prison.
