A Waterloo woman was arrested Tuesday night after a search of her vehicle reportedly found burglar’s tools and stolen items.
According to the police report, a traffic stop was initiated on a 2008 Ford Escape being driven by 40-year-old Jessica Ramsey just before 6pm Tuesday. She allegedly fled the traffic stop, but the officer located the vehicle a short time later.
Ramsey was located in the vehicle, along with burglary tools and evidence of drugs. A probable cause search reportedly turned up cannabis and a zip-lock baggie containing a crystalline substance in immediate vicinity of Ramsey and her purse.
The burglar tools in question consisted of a pair of bolt cutters. Possible stolen items were also found,. and Ramsey said other individuals who were in the car had been stealing items all night.
She has been charged with marijuana possession, a controlled substance violation, and possession of burglar’s tools. She could face up to four years in prison if convicted.
