A late night traffic stop in Iowa City has led to numerous drug and weapons charges against a rural West Branch woman.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a 2005 Chevy Silverado that was driving westbound on Interstate 80 between the Dodge Street and Dubuque Street exits for a pair of equipment violations just before 10:45 Tuesday night. A K9 alerted on the vehicle, and the driver…36-year-old Amanda Moore of 300th Street…reportedly refused to get out when asked.

Moore was eventually removed from the vehicle, and a search allegedly turned up methamphetamine, marijuana, THC wax, a knife with a blade over five inches long, and numerous devices used for smoking narcotics.

Moore is charged with Person Ineligible to Carry a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Interference With Official Acts. If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum of over three years in jail.
