A motorist found sleeping in his vehicle was arrested after meth was discovered.
Just before 1:45am May 4th, 45-year-old Anthony Carter of Morely Iowa was discovered asleep in his vehicle on the 1600 block of Muscatine Street. Upon contact, he allegedly stated to using meth and said he still had some on him.
Carter was searched, and baggies of methamphetamine were reportedly discovered. Additional baggies, along with a meth pipe and a scale in the vehicle.
Carter was charged with a controlled substance violation.
Ten days later, on the 14th, Carter was brought to the jail from Blackhawk County on a separate matter. An intake search reportedly found two baggies containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Carter was charged with bringing Contraband into a Correctional Institution, a Class D Felony. With the meth possession charge earlier, he could face up to six years in prison if convicted on both counts.
