An intoxicated man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly wandering off with a five-year-old at the Coralville Reservoir.
Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Sandy Beach Campground just before 9:45 Saturday night for an intoxicated male who had left on foot with his five-year-old child. The man in question, 32-year-old Brandon Haynes of Fruitland, returned to the campsite near Mehaffey Bridge Road while deputies were en route and allegedly began trying to start fights.
When officers arrived, Haynes showed multiple signs of intoxication and stated he had been drinking all day. He refused a portable Breathalyzer test.
Haynes was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.
